I just found this link to a documentary made in 1985 about the Stonehenge trashing (they got the year wrong on the title). I was about 18 at the time and appear in the video a couple of times. Big love and respect to all the Convoy Crew, those still with us and those who have passed over
Soooo.. have you given up on any idea of Herb law reform ?
I was a Green Mbr (7 yrs) too.. & was told that the party do not see it as a priority (whilst 1000s of otherwise law abiding citizens continue to suffer this INJUSTICE !!
OH DEAR….
Back on topic, classic to see an 18 yo punk Nandor, I would have been 8 at the time. This video was both fascinating and shocking. It reminded me of the eviction of the Occupy camps in more recent years. In both cases, members of the public, peacefully enacting their democratic freedom to assemble on public land, were attacked and driven out by violent gangs of armed thugs, while “respectable” society looked on and blamed the victims. Chilling that this was in 1895, four years after another wave of Police violence and intimidation of peaceful protesters here in Aotearoa, the anti-apartheid protests against the 1981 Springbok Tour.
